Deendayal Women's Empowerment Center (DMSK)

Kachchh, a remote district in Gujarat, where women still face numerous challenges. According to statistics, the female literacy rate in Kachchh district is approximately 70.3%, which is slightly lower than the national average of 70.6%. The Female Labor Force Participation Rate (FLFPR) in Kachchh district is 41.7%, significantly higher than the national average of 25.1%. However, the crime rate against women in Kachchh district is a concerning 4,45,000. Despite these challenges, various programs are being implemented for women's empowerment in Kachchh district. In this context, the Ujaas Women's Organization has established the Deendayal Women's Empowerment Center (DMSK), financially supported by the Deendayal Port Authority. DMSK is a dedicated skill development and women's empowerment center, focusing on making women self-reliant through vocational training, legal awareness, and employment-oriented programs. Our goal is to empower women in Kachchh district to overcome challenges like caste discrimination, low education, limited economic opportunities, and social and family pressures, and improve their lives.
